I got a Pineapple banded conure!

This is my beautiful little conure, Yoshi! I adopted him off of craigslist, he is three years old and skittish around hands. I decided that I will start with hand training. He comes out to sit on the cage and watch me while I do work or make things. He's a little sweetheart and doesn't, or hasn't, bite(n).

I would start with training on a perch instead of hands. Rupert was Yoshi's age when I adopted him and he didn't trust hands either. I worked with getting him to trust stepping up on to a perch. Hands were much easier afterwards because he needed help with his pinfeathers, but I still went very slowly with him. Watch his body language -- he will tell you volumes!
