Hi! My baby Sunny is about 5 months and she's a sweetheart. The problem is, she literally doesn't stay still... Ever!

She's always going flying around the house or going crazy is she's in her cage (big toy-filled cage). Also she seems to hate her cage, she does play with her toys sometimes but mostly she's just screaming or looking for a way to get out Is this something normal? Is it because of her age?

I've only had male birds in the past, does her being a female change anything? She seems only calm when someone is with her, or petting her. I just want her to live a happy life and give the screams a little rest lol

Likely just her personality. Baby’s have lots of energy. You might want to try training now. She is adorable and congrats!

You can always teach station training and set up foraging stations to keep her busy somewhere you want her to be.

It would be a good idea to teach her to be calm and happy in the cage - including feeding her in the cage, training her through the cage bars, only having food and water in the cage, etc.

It sounds all like "normal" behavior, for a young bird. Training and enriching her mind can go a long ways into working on keeping her calmer in the long run.

Totally normal. Baby birds want to be with the flock... That's how they learn! And you're the flock ;) so being alone in a cage feels quite unnatural I'm sure!
