Hi everyone!
I never really thought I would be a bird lover, but I met a super cute black headed caique this past week and I fell in love!!! I'm in the process of doing more research about everything, but I will be a proud birdie momma sometime soon!!
Let me know if there's anything in particular that I should look for or ask about when picking out my bird. I was on vacation when I fell hard (!) so that cutie pie won't be in my flock.....

Caiques are known to be the clowns of the bird world, so no wonder it swept you off your feet. Sometimes there's the concept of letting the bird pick you out that's best. There's a variety of birds out there that you may mesh with it all just comes down to what type of bird, personality, etc.

Welcome to AA i am n no way a Caique expert, im in the Poicephalus and Amazon area, but i heard Caique’s can be pretty hard to live with, so before you get all smitten and jump into it, please do research thouroughly That said, i understand why you fall in love... parrots are amazing creatures, and so smart there’s a Caique section on the forum with lots of helpfull people

I wanted to do more research before jumping in. I still love the caiques, but I've been reading more about cockatiels too. I've got to check out some bird stores near me first. Unfortunately the closest one is an hour away....
