Hair Dye

Hello everyone! I have a semi urgent question that I need to ask. One of my Christmas gifts is a haircut and dye. I haven't had color in my hair for many years, so I'm really excited to get what's called an oil slick dye. However, I was starting to think about this because I didn't have a pet cockatiel that loves to be on my shoulder and often plays with my hair last time I had color. I'm going to a solon and I've added an example photo of the color and also the cutest picture in the whole world of Sunny snuggling me. Me and Sunny spend probably 87% of the day together, and although she has plenty of toys to play with in her flight cage, she prefers being out with me.

My internet search results are confusing and conflicting info as usual, but mainly saying that it'll be fine after the wash. So my question is, will it be safe to be around my Sunny girl after its dyed? My stylist always washes it after the dye, but I've always had a bit of color leak on my pillow and when I washed my hair next. Sunny LOVES colorful things, so I'm betting on her playing with my hair a bit more than usual and I want to make sure she'll be completely safe.

Thanks in advance

It's safe - I've had a number of hair colors at this point :D as long as they're not around when the dye is wet and actively dying your hair, it's fine. My cockatiel preens my hair pretty often, so I understand the concern, but you should be good to go

Yep, once set and rinsed out you should be fine :)

One caution: some birds take offense at you changing your plumage ;)
