I'm sorry these photos are so crappy! My phone would not focus! But my Stormy and Cloudy birds--both blue seem to have much darker beaks than the other birds. Is this normal? The coloration appears to be dark green--or blue. If this is not normal, what do I do? And what does it mean? Apologies for the dirty mirror--I need to clean it soon! And Cloudy's a dirt bord--ive got a to-do list sob. LMK if you need better pictures! But please lmk asap if this is irregular! Budgie 2.jpg Budgie 3.jpg

I zoomed in, the one in the first photo - Is that an injury?

Like Pixiebeak said, their beaks can change color depending on hormones (I’ve read, I haven’t experienced, I don’t have budgies).

Do you have any photos of the whole cage?

Are you asking about the beak or the cere?
Can you get a better picture of the first one's cere? I think s/he is a girl. I am not seeing anything wrong with their beaks.

Males beaks can turn blue during hormones.
But the brown on the males cere??? Whats that?
From the research I've done, this happens when a female budgie is unable to lay eggs? I could be wrong but it was brown for a solid amount of time and it is now partially blue. Im no expert! I could be wrong! But still! :)

I don't want to jump to conclusions but those cages look too small for budgies. (I don't know your situation, I'm just warning you)
My current situation is complicated! I feel horrible for my poor budgies. We're a little broke right now but me and my family are working towards a mega habitat for all 4 of em! A big ol cage! But in the meantime--I let em out every day when I leave for school. They sit on top of their cages with each other and sometimes fly up to the ceiling fan--or get in each others cages. In this picture--all 4 birds are in one cage. They have free will lolz, they just for some reason all chose to cram into one cage! But normally, Sunny has her own cage, Cloudy has her own cage, and the blue birds have been together since purchase so they share a cage. They luv each other! :> Anyways--were working towards a bigger cage--its just super hard in this situation! :(

Im really not sure! After several google searches--I cant find anything, and its not blood--its just brown in the same way that the other females are yk? Though it was brown for a good while and now it is suddenly turning much more blue! It is strange! :(

If she had a brown cere before she's definitely a girl and you are correct, it is perfectly normal!

Regarding the first budgie with the spot of brown on the cere. I agree that she does look like a girl especially with the white around the nares. I’ve never seen the brown in only that location before but I agree that it seems normal since she’s a girl!
