Zazzy is a Fiery-shouldered conure, right? 56g is definitely on the low end, but it's not unheard of. Most adult FSCs aren't going to be above 75g...certainly not 100g. Is your vet basing this on feeling her keel bone?Zazzy weights 56g where she should weight 100g, or 80g the least.
This sounds like good news. I am not sure what the vet based it on but her weight is still alarming. I bought a scale as suggested, and she was so curious about it she stepped on it without us having to force her. The scale read 64g! the scale should be correct and if it is i am very happy she is weighing a bit more. she had absolutely no food in her crop or stomach probably. She has been eating a lot, we even gave her some pellets in apple juice and she eat it with no problem, but we are primarily feeding her fruits. She even pooped more solid which is great! Her poop looks very normal now,she seems to be pooping all the time, and she is back to her loud self. She seems to have a lot of energy when she bites and looks a lot better! the vet also called to check in and said he is very happy with the way she is responding to the food and medicine but that he thinks we shouldnt take zaza to the specialist just yet untill she gets a little more better, but we think we need to find out what is wrong so we know we are treating the right thing!56g is definitely on the low end, but it's not unheard of.
