Chop Guidlines?

Hello everyone! I will hopefully getting my parrotlet on Sunday and am starting to get read to prepare chop. I know that there are already a whole bunch of recipes out there, but, as I’m hoping to just make small batches, I would love some general guidelines on what and how much of it should be included in a chop.

Also, would love some insight on how long to keep veggies in cage before taking them out.

It depends on a few things.

The less cut up a piece is, the less moist surface area for bacteria there is to grow on. So big chunks are going to be safer left out longer than pieces that are finely chopped.

Warmer temperatures will also encourage bacteria growth sooner than cooler temperatures.

I'm comfortable leaving chop out a few hours, while big chunks of "not chop" I'm comfortable leaving longer.
