Friends of mine came across this problem when trying to raise Greys without enough calcium in the diet. I hope someone here can help you bird now.
He's a year old and he had a clutchmate that didn't have his issues. His parents have also had others that were also fine. He didn't need any help being him, we just needed to figure out how his living conditions as he grew.

Its been a long time since I reported on Zazu. He continues to do well, still loves to be snuggled and spoiled. Here's a picture of him with his new mat.

Zazu hasn't been his happy self so off to the Dr's we went.:sad6:

Xray's and blood was taken under the mask. Nothing out of the ordinary, at least for Zazu with the xray evaluation so we await the results of the blood tests.

Thankfully he came out of the anesthesia with no problems. Always scary to see a limp FID.......

We got the results of Zazu's bloodwork. His muscle enzymes were high and his kidney levels were also off. It is possible that he fell and hurt himself which would explain the muscle reading and the kidney readings are likely from his lack of appetite and drinking.

Our vet suggested that if he doesn't improve soon that he would like to keep him there to get him rehydrated, etc. However, the stress could be more detrimental so we've decided to syringe feed him a combination of handfeeding formula and Avitec's Formula One. I tried giving it to him in a bowl which he ignored but enjoyed being held by my wife while I fed him small amounts at a time.

I'll let you know how he does.

I've been handfeeding my Grey with syringes since June due to liver cirrhosis. I'm using Lafeber's Emeraid Omnivore. She's 23 years old but really likes it. At first I was feeding her a lot, 2 or 3 times a day. We are finally done to about 1/3 of what I had been feeding her and she's eating a lot of her own foods now.

Yes, the muscle enzymes being high are from not eating enough and having to use up his own muscle for energy.

:hug8: for all of you and I hope he will be ok. Right now keep him eating though or leave him with the vet for gavage feeding. If he will eat from syringes, he will probably be happiest at home with you and your wife.
