Broken blood feather on canary

Hello. Today I saw my canary bleeding, figured out it's a broken blood feather somewhere on his wing section. I looked for the blood feather but I can't find it. I think the canary plucked it by itself. Just to be safe I applied semolina (since I don't have cornstarch) to prevent bleeding. In my area vets are not that good with birds. I left my canary in his flight cage for now.
Any tips on what should I do?

If the bleeding has stopped, it should be fine. Most blood feathers don't require anything to be done. It's only if the bleeding isn't stopping that it's a problem. Just watch to make sure he doesn't bump it and it starts bleeding again. Did he lose a lot of blood?

First of all thanks for the fast reply. No, he didn't lose a lot of blood, I think he lost about 2-3 drops of blood. He stopped bleeding. Thank you, I was worried sick.

Michelle left you good advice.

For future, if you have no cornstarch, use flour instead of semolina.

Glad your canary is doing ok :)
