Baby lovebird sneezing in presence of wildfire smoke in the environment.

We had several wildfires in our area today; the air is thick with smoke and I have done my best to keep my house smoke free (due to my asthma and bird companions). I have 3 baby peach faced lovebirds, all are 4 weeks old. One is sneezing a bit with watery discharge ... no other symptoms. I know that they have sensitive respiratory systems, should I be worried, and if so, what can I do to alleviate the sneezing?

Ps. I have avian vitamin drops and general avian medical drops that I used for the parents.

I wish I had some advice to offer.
Perhaps you can call an avian vet who can have a look at your baby and offer some suggestions.
Do you have an air purifier near your birds?

It's 11:30pm, I don't have a humidifier but am manually misting the room. I had to use my asthma pump twice so I have no idea how severely my babies are affected. They've started panting. I'm keeping them calm with a light blanket over them while they're sleeping on me. Just so worried.

Trying to put myself in your situation.
I would move them into the bathroom, turn on the out take fan and turn the shower on to get the humdity up.

Can anyone offer a better suggestion?

Put them in their cage and cover the cage securely with a wet sheet and put them in whatever room in your house has the least smoke. Keep the door closed and towels under the door to keep air out.

Can you leave town and get out of the smoke? With your asthma acting up you should really get out.

Do the wet towel like Mary Lynn said but best to get out as the smoke is going to give you issues too with the asthma. If you can get out keep that wet sheet around the cage when you leave and you need to cover your nose and mouth with something wet too.

Thanks everyone. I used the wet towel method after keeping myself and the birdies in the bathroom (using the shower as a humidifier) for 3hours whilst I got my own room smoke free. I am looking to get myself a proper humidifier as I cannot leave. They are trying to maintain the fires and I hope they will extinguish them asap. Myself and the birdies are doing fine for the time being. Will keep everyone up-to-date.

(Ps. I live in the red Somerset West area.)
