New Budgie Owner Here- Need help with nest

I adopted a bonded pair of Budgies. I had no intention of breeding or anything like that, however, they came with their cage and all accessories, which included a little nest in the cage. I was not educated on the mating habits or hormonal cycles of Budgies, and Duchess laid 9 eggs starting on...

    A wonderful nest!

A birdie made this nest, my sister found it in the tree. I climbed the tree and took a look at it, and found sunflower seeds! Will keep you all updated on it if I see anything new, although I won't check on it too often so I don't share off the birdie/birdies, I think it might be a Robin nest

Baby bird has left the nest

Hi, so my baby budgie is 6 weeks old now, and this morning I walked out to find it was sitting on the bottom of the cage. I heard that budgies fledge around 5 weeks, but I’m unsure if the baby should be out or if the parents have kicked it out. For the last couple days I’ve noticed it sitting...

    Amazing Turtle Video!

I came across this news story (with a video) about loggerhead sea turtle hatchlings and how the nest "boils" as the sea turtles emerge. The video is amazing, it takes a little while, but the nest "boiling" is stunning...

    A new skill?

Expert tail-maker Sydney has been offering demonstrations on how to nest, however I'm not sure Adélie is learning much.... She is instead following in her fathers footsteps by following the other around and pulling out all the stored paper. *For anyone who doesn't know my birds, to clarify...
