How can a person listen when they cannot hear the words and see the body language.
The art of being a good listener is rare to find nowadays.
A good listener just listens and doesn't give advice unless asked for.
I think the person the message was intended for knew what I/we meant

Oh....Sam. My heart aches for you. I had not seen you, but thought I might have missed your posts.

Maybe find a bird to enjoy nearby. Even a wild bird. Or one that is handicapped or needs special help.

Depression is understandable because you are mourning the loss of your feathered friends, as well as your belongings I assume. That is traumatic and it will take time to grieve. BUT you must pull out of it at some point. Please promise us that you will do that.

Only you know when it's time to lay aside the darkness and move back to "the land of the living." Many of us on this board have been there. We care.

Sometimes you need to do things for your own welfare. That is not everyone that can handle loss good. (I'm one of them)
Find a bird (or another animal) that needs to be rescued.
You will create a special bond because you both need each other badly.
The worst loss I have been through was finding myself all alone and waking up with the feeling that nobody needed me.

So sorry for your losses. :sorrow:

Oh my god Sam, I’m so very sorry! There really are no words, but I hope you will be okay in time. I can’t even imagine your heartache right now, but I hope you can find a feathered friend in need and you both can heal together. Agh, my heart aches for you.

I’m so so sorry... I hope that with time things get better for you, maybe visit a bird sanctuary or rescue just to surround yourself with birds if you think that their presence could cheer you up. When I lost my cockatiel Baby 3 years ago I couldn’t bring myself to get another bird... but I surrounded myself with them by taking every opportunity to hang out with them. And now 3 years later I am bringing a baby green cheek into my life. Take your time and don’t give up:sadhug2:

Took me a few days to overcome this.Remember the post in Budgie Boulevard,'Clip?'?The last post was me going out to jog at the stadium a 10min drive away.Took me about two hours to get back to my apartment which was a heap of ashes. Not that I saw that first. It was the fire engines that first caught my attention.Considering the newly-wired fan,my mind fell to the worst. And I had to be right...
Not cool mate, not cool. Both Umbrella and Crown told me that they would be with me forever (I asked, they replied) and considering their lifespan, that was what I expected.A pile of ashes and bones was not my idea of being together forever.I need them to come back!
When I was 12,I was diagnosed with depression, which was,at that time, not the best news. They brought me out of that. And now I'm probably going back...Damn.I probably shouldn't be sharing this in the first place.Anyways this is the fourth time I'm typing this out during the period of an hour, the original copy was much longer.
Nevermind,eh.

Man that's horrible! My worst nightmare.
I don't even know if I'd have the strength to talk if I lost my birds and place.

I’m so very sorry, please reach out to any family or friends you have that you can talk to. Do you have somewhere to stay? You shouldn’t have to be alone in such a time. We’re here if you need to talk.
Again, I’m so sorry this has happened.
