Yes, this baby is dopey and gorgeous and sweet lol. I am so anxious to get him. I don't know what kind of care hes getting right now and I just want him vet checked and in his nice new double mac cage in my home.

Western names....hmmm. Wayne immediately takes me to John Wayne, the Duke, and all of his memorable characters like Big Jake and Rooster, among others. And don't leave out Zane Grey. Zane is a cool name. I'm anxious to hear that the baby has a great vet check and just needs TLC, which you will shower in abundance. Sorry for your loss, but congrats on the baby Mac!

Quick question @Macawnutz @Hankmacaw @macawpower58 I have ordered the kings double macaw cage and expected delivery is between Friday and the following weds because I'm west coast. I'm getting this baby Saturday. So while I could have it Friday I was worried I wouldn't get it in time. I went to my local bird rescue and bought the only new macaw cage they had on hand...a Kings 40 x 30 x 76 cage. It's a nice quality, solid cage, just not as big as I'd like. Will it be ok for this baby to stay in for maybe up to a week? (May not need it at all) I was just so worried I wouldn't have the cage in time and figured I could always use this one as a back up, emergency cage etc. I'll post pictures later of it set up.

Depending on what he us used to now you may want to keep him in it a few weeks.

I had my babies in the same size until they were much better on their feet. Then I moved them in the walk in avairies.

That's good to know.
If you look at the picture of him, in the backround is a (I think rabbit cage) cage that hes been kept him. So he isn't used to huge cages.
I can make this one very nice with some great perches and toys. Plus he'll be out more than hes in it once hes comfortable.

Got his cage put together and found some locally made heavy, amazing natural perches.

Neat perches. Manzanita can be slippery, especially for young birds. You may need or want to try vet wrap for grip.

Those perches have a nice variety in diameter for his feet.
