This took three days...

uh-oh. the trusses arrived and they are flat. I now decide I want a cathedral ceiling. The contractor is not happy, mutters something about "women!!" under his breath. The guy is 86.

So, he orders vaulted trusses, and the flat ones are tossed aside.

progress!

I actually work for a civil engineering and surveying firm, but rarely get to see the work in action. It's very cool to be able to see the development step by step. Thanks for posting!

Also love the kitteh :p

ha ha...looks like pretty kitty is superhelpful. did she leave prints all over the concrete?would be kind of silly to have kitty prints in floor of birdroom. cant wait to see it finished!

Thank you everyone, for the nice comments. :hug8:
What was your husband like through all this?
Did you have to cut any deals ?:laughin:
:hehe: he was so not a bird person back then (2007).....I hadn't had the birds for very long....
Now he is Big Scooter's best friend.
Anyways I had to negotiate for a larger than planned aviary ..... :p.
He ...how will it affect the resale value of property. Me....what will be more fun for the birds.
In the end it worked out well in both aspects :hehe:

Wow Saroj!! I can't wait to see more pics. This is awesome. :D Dare I ask how much this cost you?!
No you may not, Nicole
Just kidding :hug8:
As Erika so elegantly put it....let's just say it cost a pretty penny :hehe:

Now for a few more pictures in my coffee break :dancing:

The extended aviary...

and now I will be able to step right out of the bird room into the flying room, and can drag cages out to power wash and stuff....I am happy:)

But then one day I came home from work, the flying room frame is up. Eek! I didn't tell them to make it 15 ft high! How will I ever get the birds down???

(the contractor got me three sizes of ladders for it :hehe:)

Work progresses...
