When I pull broken flight feathers, I pull it, and then put FLOUR on it. Syptic powder will sting ifyou put it directly on the flesh, but on a toenail or broken flight feather, it is fine, not directly omnt he skin.

How's Big Scooter doing now?

So glad Big Scooter is okay! I make a paste with flour and a tiny bit of water when needed for over trimmed nails or even on skin. It's inexpensive and always on hand, never expires.

I have corn flour and cayenne in the first aid box redy to mix. Touch wood I have not had to use it yet.
