Im not sure if this is a true emergency. Fannie got hold of a blue ink pen and snapped it as quick as can be she has some ink on her togue and upper beak. I wiped it with a tissue as best I could. She is so good she let me wipe her tongue and inside of her beak but there is still some on there should I be concerned?

It happens and I don't think she got enough to hurt her...it will start coming off when she drinks...
If you can wet a wash cloth and wipe her tongue/beak you might be able to get more off..
I make a game out of teaching my birds about "wipe the beak" so when something does happen they aren't afraid of the wet towel...and will help me...Just an idea for you...:hug8:

As long as it's a typical "ink" pen & not a specialty pen or marker the ink should be soy based and OK.

Can you say what the brand is?

Its a regular "Bic" look a like from Staples. Blue ink. It should be ok right? I will try a wet towel also.

Rocky also got ink all over her beak and in her mouth (reg. ink pen type) and I blotted her beak and let her chew a paper towel and she is fine.

ok she chewed on the wet paper towel and a lot more came off. She still has a lot of blue on the inside of her lower beak but I cannot get to that area. As I was looking closely at her beak I noticed a little crack where her beak meets her ???cere??? (I think that is what it is called) Is this normal?? I tried to get a picture.

Its hard to tell for sure, but I have seen that on my guys where the cere is sorta dry. Kind of like how my cuticles can get in the summer.

It just looks like the skin around the cere was pushed back. This has happened to Squeeky when he has had night frights.

She should be fine, all of the regular ink pens like Bic use non toxic ink. You can always check the MSDS sheets on their website to ease your mind.

I just looked through a ton of pictures and can you believe I don't have any from that angle. Should I just watch it?
