This is kind of awesome to read, I'm not going to lie. I have to say though, if/when the "conker" (as we seem to be calling it) hatches, you MUST post pictures anytime you can without getting the parents mad.

I wish I could say that I'd gladly take care of it if you decided you couldn't but I doubt that would go over well at my house....

Sorry guys, crazy week. Egg hatched thursday while I was at work. The chick seems OK, Sookie's feeding it. I'm keeping Oscar away, though. Not sure if this is the right thing to do.

It looks kind of freakish. Yellow hue to its skin... I'll try to snap a picture if Sookie lets me get close enough without trying to attack.

Well, it's awfully quiet, not sure if it should be making noise yet. Haven't seen it move much at all, but it is definitely a LOT bigger than the egg was already!
