27 days might seem like a long time, but Do NOT give up hope... there are many, many stories of people who lost birds that stayed in the wild (not captured and kept as a pet) and were reunited MONTHS or Years after the bird was lost. I know of an African Grey that was lost for 13 weeks in the wild, a hand raised Pied African Crow that was recovered in the wild over 600 miles from where it was originally lost almost 8 months later, a Macaw that was lost for 2 months... My vet was telling me of a bird that was found that had been reported lost 6years before... the bird was chipped - the owner's info was not update, but with a little effort my vet was able to find out who initially implanted the chip and they were able to eventually make contact with the owner thru his ex-wife who still used the original vet who performed the implant.
