October Shutterbug Contest-BUGS!!

I just checked on the net and found out that a moth and or butterfly is considered insects. ( classified with insects because they have a head, thorax, and abdomen)

So I enter a photo of a butterfly I took a few years ago. It is a female swallowtail.

Water bug. I found this sucker when I stuck my hand into the pool skimmer to clean it out and something grabbed onto the end of my finger. I'm not scared of bugs but he caught me by surprise. I didn't kill him. But he came close.

He's about 3 inches long.

Actually the grub in the starting post revolted me more than the cooked snacks - not that I'd eat them either.

Bugs can also be beautiful. Not sure what kind but we saw them all over in St Lucia and in Grenada. They are about 2-3 inches long
