Dr. Orosz thinks her liver has slowly been getting worse and the bacterial infection whammied her. She’s home but she looks rough and she isn’t happy to be home since she did nothing but stay with her favorite person, Dr. O. But she def isn’t feeling well since I didn’t loose a finger as I normally do when I take her off of her shoulder. She’s on baytril and clavamox and dr o says she doesn’t do that but thinks it’s necessary.

I hope she feels better. I know some meds can be hard on the liver... I don't if that's what's going on too... Urg what a horrible predicament. Poor girl, I wish you both well. This can't be easy on you too.

She scared me again Monday night so we went to the vet Tuesday morning. More subq fluids and another oncior shot. She also had another xray and her liver has gone down significantly. If we can just get her through the organ issues, we should be good. Her bacterial infection is gone but we are battling the organ problems. I have to give her three more shots of oncior over the next two weeks. I think I am just going to sit down with all their nutriberries and spike them with milk thistle. Sigh...

Have you tried the senior nutriberries? I think they do have milk thistle in them. I hope she continues to improve.

Yes, I have been giving those to them but I need them in 20lb boxes at this point...oiy.

Thank you! This year has been a bit rough on the heart. Kari looks pretty good in the mornings so maybe by the time I'm home and everyone is out, she is just tuckered.

Dr o said we are still struggling with what she had earlier since she just hasn’t been right. A little bit of a bacterial infection again, serious hormones as she said her gonads are really swollen. Looks like I’ll be pushing fluids for a long time and a bit of critical care. I also have to give her oncior shots every 7 days...recheck after the next two, depo shot for hormones and antibiotics in the water and continued milk thistle dandelion. She looks so much better after subq fluids. Maybe she just isn’t hydrating herself enough.
