I would NOT trust Pita in anything cardboard! She's a little destroyer.
Elvis too. Which is why I need a new carrier. LOL.

I have the smallest aluminum one from King's for my G2.
It works wonderfully and fits him just fine. (he's about 300g)
It is very light and easy to move around.
They are still on sale for a few days from King's Cages

Would it be comfortable/small enough to hold on your lap?

Just a few months ago I did about a 90 minute trip as a passenger in a friend's pickup truck with the carrier on my lap.
I didn't mind the weight at all, it was a bit big to maneuver around when it was time to get out. I couldn't slide out and jump down while holding it and needed a hand.

I get mine the small tomorrow wtis 10 lbs but they have legs like th epoquito so you would have to have a pillow or blanket on your lap & guess it depends how big your lap is...I think the dog kind would be easier on the lap.

I love my Pak o Bird and my Birdie Go Go from Celltei. The Go Go is a little cheaper; maybe not quite as rugged and made more as a carrier than a backpack (like the Pak o Bird). Maybe check out the GoGo?

Have you decided on which one is best for you and E?

Not yet. I'm thinking about maybe getting the back pack, although it's a little more than I wanted to spend right now. I've thought about getting one to take him on walks for awhile anyway. The King's ones look really nice and I wish I would have bought one originally. But I have the Avian Hotel one and but for weight, they're pretty similar. And I can just hear Howie- why did you buy another travel cage when we already have one. LOL.

I guess here's a new question. Can Elvis chew his way out of the back pack? @ConureTiel ?

I was not asked but I'm going to awnser anyways  Cellti is an awesome company that is very willing to make a carrier to work for your specific bird. They have steel mesh so the bird can see out and a "Heavy Chewer" option. https://www.celltei.com/products/pak-o-bird-medium-size.html

Do you have a picture of the old one so we can see what you are looking for?
I might be able to find one on-line or take one when I get home this evening. The company discontinued making them- but since Elvis chewed his way out of it getting a second one probably wouldn't have worked anyway. Even though I liked it.
