I think you are right. I see babies all the time at the Arboretum but didn't think of that. It's a peacock baby.
Yes they have. A small part is webbed.Peacocks don't have webbed feet.
I guess I never considered that small amount of skin between their toes webbing.Yes they have. A small part is webbed.
No, this was someone who found it in a neighborhood and sent him the photo to identify since he does wildlife photography. My birdy "Inn" is closed!Have you and your husband taken the chick in? He´s a little cutie
The lady who has it used to work for the Wildlife Raptor Center in Awendaw, SC. She does wildlife rescues and a while back there were two mallard ducks that had blow darts... one had it in the neck and the other through the chest... swimming around in a pond, she spent weeks trying to capture these ducks, spent money to buy nets, a kayak and other gear but I don't believe she was ever able to catch them. She'll make sure this little one gets where it needs to go!Awe, maybe a wild life refuge will take the wee one in?
Is it this place? The Center for Birds of Prey – Avian Conservation CenterWildlife Raptor Center in Awendaw, SC.
Yes.... that would be it!Is it this place? The Center for Birds of Prey – Avian Conservation Center
Beacause I went there last year while visiting a relative near Hilton Head. (I purchased some owl pellets )
My husband sent me this picture to see if I could identify it. Someone he knows found it by itself and don't know what it is. It's a bit roughed up, may have been picked up by a crow or other predator and dropped. What do you think it is?
