Hi everyone. I'm having to move from a three level BIG house to a two bedroom apartment. I have to downsize my flock. I don't know whether it will be by four or more. If anyone is interested in any of my flock please PM me. Thanks.

I have to get rid of a cat or two too.

And the dog is staying at her foster home for now.

So sorry to learn of this. What type of birds do you need to rehome and what is your location? Are there fees?

Fees - I'm not looking to recover any money except the Ekkie (he is $600). I'm looking for homes for them.
As for what type do I need to rehome? At least one Severe. A couple of the 2s.
Sorry - I know that sounds vague but if you come to my house and one of my birds falls in love with you...then we could talk.
I'm in Gaithersburg.

It is really hard for me to go through. I'm losing my home. 57 years of age and losing my home. I know I'm not the first but ugh!!!
I can handle losing my home but when it comes to getting rid of my animals...I start crying.
Thank you for the hugs.

I'm so sorry. I guess renting a small house isn't an option? I know here you can often rent a small house for about the same price as many apartments. I just hate to see you have to downsize your flock.

I'm sorry this is happening and I hope you are able to find great homes for them. Hopefully homes that stay in touch with you and give you updates or something.

Our landlord told us a cpl weeks ago he was selling our home and within a week it sold. Definitely difficult to find a place okay with the birds.

So sorry to hear that. Ugh.

Hopefully some roadies can help with your fids. Heartbreaking.

If I could rent a one level home I would. Because of my fibromyalgia I am being selective in the kind of house/apartment that I'm looking at...right now. Things may change as it closer to the time that I have to leave my home.

I hope you can find a detached home to rent so you do not need to rehome. Maybe you can find members here who would be willing to foster until you can find better accommodations.

Are you able to move into a bird friendly apartment? Believe it or not, I had 5 cockatoos and 1 macaw in my two bedroom apartment. Plus three pairs of parrotlets and three cockatiels.

I slept on the couch. Worked well for me. :)

Can you find a place that allows birds?? I guess apartments may have neighbors who wont want a lot of noise....
If I could I would take in a bird from your flock, but I cant really drive over

I am sorry you are losing your house and very very sorry about having to rehome some of your fids. I wish I could help you out. Like many others have said, I hope that a roadie or two will be able to rehome/foster some of your birdies. :hug8::hug8::hug8:

This is such a sad thread. I live in a big old house all alone, I'd offer you space to get things together, if only you lived in Pennsylvania. If you ever decide moving is best....give me a yell.

I can't imagine the pain and heartbreak you must be feeling.
