Hi Everyone...I thought I would update you all on Bella. I have since taken her to a second Vet here in Barrie, ON and she suggested I keep her on the antibiotic a couple of weeks longer to see if these attacks stop. She is at a loss and has no idea what could be causing this. I kept her on the antibiotic longer and Bella is still having the attacks!!! :-(. I even went as far with some help from a bird group on FB and took her down to Guelph Veterinary Hospital where the Avian specialist is Dr. Beaufere. They ran blood work, xrays and said it could be Asthma, it could be hormones and her cholesterol is on the high side (that I seriously don't get how that could be) Bella has been on this Asthma medication for about a week or so with the last attack on March 16/17. I have been keeping a journal of when they happen and try to see how long they last and they usually are at least 3 hrs long!!! They have mentioned doing a biopsy of her lungs but there are great risks with this procedure (I will have to check my email for the exact name). Bella with all my other birds are hormonal right now but she has never regurgitated for me, the others have...they bob their heads up and down and a bit of food comes up but Bella is literally getting big pieces of pellet up and out when she does this and it is quite a few times as well. She also has a big uriate after the regurgitating/vomitting....droopy wings too. She has also recently plucked her chest a bit too and the thing is all the signs she is exhibiting could be signs of sickness or homones??? Anyone ever heard of a bird being sooo hormonal, they do this??? I am beyond stressed for my baby!!! :-(
