I buy it in a large package already blended and dried. I keep a small dish filled with the salad in their cages all the time. When the dish starts to get dirty or empty, I clean and refill it.

I have only used the mixture from Twin Beaks also. I think that it took a while for the birds to start picking at it. You can also mix it with other foods like vegetables or birdie breads. I have done that also.

I started giving Whitey herb salad about 3 months ago. She had a large fatty tumor on her front. She is fully flighted but could not fly because she was so fat. 3 months later the tumor has noticeably gone down. She is much lighter and she is flying around the room right behind Scooter. I am thrilled!! :) I contribute it to the salad.

That is good to hear! Holistic techniques are becoming more popular with veterinarians ... the vet who treats my birds uses milk thistle and some other herbs to treat liver problems.

I just got a nice fresh bag today. I have started keeping it in the freezer. Even though they say it can be kept out, I like the freshness of keeping it frozen and taking it out of the freezer to replenish their dishes.

I keep a bowl of this in the cage all of the time. Tango and Jasper both like it. I don't see them eat it everyday but they do eat it. Jasper seems to eat more of it than Tango does.

I've been using twin beaks herb salad for a few years now. Good stuff!!

I used to blend it in with my bird bread or cookies. Until I read the instructions and it said don't do that. hehehe

Looks like a great idea. I'm not sure about the legallity of it being sent to Australia so I jumped onto an Australian herb site and ordered all the ingredients!! Over a kilogram of dried herbs and it cost a small fortune... but should last for ages! :D

I dont spoil my bird. Really..

Maybe you could check with her to see if she offers different ways to mail to you. She uses Priority Mail so that is probably why it is more to send to you. One pound of herbs is ALOT, it lasts a long time. Why dont you ask for a sample, she does do that too. She is a really nice lady, I am sure she will do whatever she can to try and help but she is running a business, I dont think she is making her money on shipping.
