This forum is for advice about initial treatment given to your injured/sick bird until a qualified avian veterinarian is available. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO REPLACE VET CARE
The thermostat was broken in my house and the heater was left running and my poor babies were at the bottoms of their cages heat exhausted what should I do?????????? PLEASE EMAIL ME COCKATOOSLOVE@GMAIL.COM
Oh my goodness Dayja! Sending prayers that everyone is going to be ok. So glad that the info was available!
Keep us updated on how they are doing, please
I WILL unfortuanetly this happened while i was at work something inside told me things wasen't right i had my uncle stop by thank GOD for him they are still panting especially petey so i will keep you updated if no improvements show within the hour i will go to a emergency vet-
While "misting" them, can you get water into their mouths? Also...if you have Pedilite, you might want to add it 50%/50% to their water for the next 24 hours...
What is the temp in your house now?
Its hot still 90 plus I have them outside its 78 no breeze I only misted there bodies should I water their beaks? I can pick up pedialite also – they seem fine but still feel much warmer than normal and petey is also still panting
Yes I would! You don't want them to dehydrate and by spraying their heads/beak they will open their mouths to get water in...OR at least mine do that! They love to have water squirted in their mouths...
You might want to call the vet and let him know what has happened and see what he says....just asking him ?'s and letting him know what is going on with the birds will help you makes decisions on what to do
Thank Heavens you got a feeling something was wrong. Bless your Uncle for going by and checking on them.
So happy to hear they seem to be doing better.
