He falls and is just fine, chipper and playing. This has the sound of may be a problem with the "roosting" leg. Like a pinched/damaged nerve. Even arthritis.

It also has the markings of an inner ear type problem which is linked to sinus.

Just speculating. Food for thought.

thank you John. I'll run it by the vet.

Now it's appearing to be neurological. :( consistency in when it happens is a sign of something.

His perches are now low enough that he can't hurt himself in a fall, right?

Jasper was falling quite often at night, because of the lack of grip in her arthritic feet. She has been sleeping in a crate now for at least a couple of years and she asks to go into her crate when it is bedtime. It took her three or four days to get used to it.

These pictures were taken before I put a thick soft dog bed in there.

Sorry that BScoot fell again. Do hope that you and vets can figure out what is causing this.

So sorry Saroj! :hug4::hug4::hug4::hug4::hug4:
That is very strange that he fell in almost the same time every night. And none in the day?
Perhaps some nerve in the leg that only shows effect because he is so still at night. I don't know, don't listen to me...

Sorry Saroj. Jasper has significant arthritis and when it is hurting her a lot it makes her fall - Just an idea to mention to the Dr.
Arthritis! Wow. Is it preventable in birds?

ok, I have question, is it possible that BScoot is hearing some type of noise that is frightening him at 4:30Am? if it is happening the same time every time could it be something that is alarming him ? I know that Rocky would be freaked out about 2 AM until I figured out that the train whistle that is about 3 miles from my house was freaking him out.

My oh leaves for work at 4:30 am but he is nowhere close to the bird room, plus he's very quiet. Been on this schedule for years. John he's going to the. Vet tomorrow, I'll discuss the neurological aspect with her. Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the pics. The perches are as low as he will accept, better than before. Bottom is padded well with white paper. Camera isn't here yet, it wasn't on prime.

What happens around that time? Maybe your OH turns on a light that shines under the door? Headlights from a car? Alarm clock?

I'd get that camera before doing anything too drastic. Does that camera have motion and sound alerts and video markers?

@Hankmacaw i like the bedtime cage idea. I have a large kings carrier but the bars are so close he got his wing stuck in them. I have a brand new one like yours, unopened but no idea where the box is. I'll order another one. Thanks for the pics

Saroj, do you have DMG?

It helps sleep and neurological issues, arthritis, its all natural.

Ask your vet tomorrow.

She'll say yes. She also gave me an arthritis formula. I'll order the dmg. Tonight. Did you give me a link earlier or the name.please can I have it again. Vetri dmg?
