I'm so happy that he is home. You have done for Shoppa what anyone would do for a member of their family. I don't understand people when they talk about expenses. It is none of their business how you spend your money. I've seen people this week spend thousands of dollars and get nothing for it. I had to be in Vegas for a meeting and I met a guy in a hotel elevator who lost $2000 in the casino. That is a waste of money. You saved Shoppa's life and that is priceless   Happy Thanksgiving!

Such great news!! Well done Corrie, and welcome home Shoppa! :dance4: And hurray for excellent vet care!

I've used the oil filled space heater for years...I think lots of folks here use them. The first time you run it maybe do it in the garage in case it vents off some smell, but other than that you should be just fine. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family... ALL of your family! :D

Is any Oil Filled Radiator style ok? I went to walmart and all they had was a Honeywell. Looks just like any of the others. Is Honeywell an ok brand?

A job well done, Corrie! I commend you for everything you have done for Shoppa. It is a testament to us all that anything is possible if you put your heart and soul into finding answers. You never gave up on him, nor did Shoppa ever give up on getting healthy again.

High five to you! Give that amazing gray boy of yours a great big birdie hug, and be sure to shower him with loads of his favorite treats! He's definitely deserved it!

Actually I just clean with white vinegar now. I put it in a small squirt bottle and that's what I use to clean the kitchen, table, anything glass with. I bought a steam cleaner to do the linoleum floors with.

I put the bird cage in the driveway, squirt it down with the hose - wipe down with a vinegar & hot water mixture - then hose down thoroughly and dry it.

I do have lysol wipes in the kitchen that I occasionally swipe down a counter with.

I also have a HEPA air filter running constantly - I have a blueair HEPA that I bought second hand off of craigslist.

I haven't noticed that the white vinegar smell bugs my amazons (more like it bugs the humans!)

Most birds will do it, Lurch does it, he'll even get comfy on me, put a foot up, and take a siesta  He's probably pretty stressed and tired out after all he's been through so as long as he wakes up and is normal then he's probably fine and just getting over his ordeal. :hug8:
Keep an eye on him as you probably know what's normal for him more then anybody, they do hide their illnesses very well to avoid being singled out and eaten which maybe why he might have been sick a while and nobody knew, especially if he was new to you.
If he truly seems off get him checked out and hopefully he'll be just fine and your being a good daddy.

I had my new Crimson bellied c for 4 days & he's still nervous. Today is the first time I've seen him try to take a nap.
Birds do take naps during the day & is normal.
