Thank you guys. This really just all took me by surprise. The vet told me on Saturday that I had caught it earlier than most people so I really thought she was going to get through it. I still have not figured out where the metal came from. There is nothing missing from the cage itself and nothing missing off her toys.

She had just started to really play with toys. It seemed like she was finally coming out of her shell. Now I will never know what could have been.
