Hi!
I got a iron wrought cage. Zora hasn't moved in yet. But i just came across an article saying iron wrought cages are not safe for birds?
Anyone here with iron wrought cages and how has it turned out?
Also, should i paint my cage then, and with what? Thank you!!

My budgies' cage said it was wrought iron but it also said it was coated with a non-toxic, durable coating. What cage did you get?

Thank you so much for your welcome!!!! ^_^
I got it from a local seller. It has no brand...
The first picture is the only details the seller gave.
The second picture is how its set up at home with her name hehe. (She has yet to move in)

It's powder coated, it's fine. Just look out for rust.
Do you recommend i paint it with bird-safe paint just in case or is that worse? I heard rustoleum paint is 100% bird safe. I'm nervous about putting her in and don't want her to be sick because i was careless

What cage did you buy? You can contact the company and ask, too. I would NOT paint it. Paint chips and can be ingested.

Edit: that cage looks powder coated to me

Have to agree with the above comments about not painting it and the comments about it being powder coated already.

I bought it online from a reseller. He probably bought it from China. He doesn't know much details. All he tells me it is iron wrought.
And this article tells me iron wrought is dangerous :(
Ok. So powder coated should be fine yes?

Yes, all metal cages that are safe for birds are either powder coated metal, stainless steel, or anodized aluminum.

The underlying metal is wrought iron. It has been powder coated. There is nothing you need to do to that cage except keep it clean.
