What types of toys do lovebirds play with?

Well mostly it depends on your lovebird. Two of my lovebirds enjoy paper products and anything shiny with a bell. My other two lovebirds enjoy wood products they can chew to pieces. Mostly what I did was get a few of everything and see which ones they like the best and then see which ones they like the most so I can get those again the next time.

p.s. my vet might have lovebirds too
It's so cool...she brings these plastic tubs to work with babies in various stages of feather and handfeeds them all day long between appointments! All kinds of babies in tubs piled here and there on any available surface...it's amazing!

Zamir, my little female grandfid adores bells, and shreddables. I think the girls like shreddables best. I know some people think it's bad, but all the debris is removed at the end of the day so there is no material to make a nest and it keeps her busy while her Mom is at work.

Trinke OTOH loves the little soft plastic foot toys and tiny plastic chain.

When he was a baby he would fall asleep on my shoulder in my robe with one of these in his mouth.

All 3 of mine like things that they can shred, too. Munch balls, finger traps, loofa slices anything wooden like popsicle sticks. They love baskets with all their favorite shreddables in it. They even love these things just tied to their cage. Also, a Holy Roller, they love to forage in one of those.

Oh, and a bunch of curly straws all tied up together is a lot of fun!

All 3 of my lovies love bamboo finger traps, anything wicker, palm leaf, paper balls, paper braids, paper trees, anything with bells, popsicle sticks, and have recently discovered the joys of balsa and thin leather strips (thanks Megan...lol). They love their boing and comfy perches, not so keen on the tents (so far).

Everything and anything that can be destroyed.
My lovies love, love, love, soft wood. They like toys that make noise too. Oh and lovies THINK they are big, so don't be afraid to get some bigger toys.
