I can hear my ARN's flock call and alarm call from inside my next door neighbor's house with our windows closed, but the sounds themselves aren't annoying to myself or any of my neighbors. In general he's quieter all day than my Quaker or than most conures I've met.
I think the best way to figure it out l, especially if you're looking at rescues, is to meet as many birds in person as you can. You could do some volunteer shifts at Best Friends if you're nearby, or if your area has a rescue. I've learned a lot from volunteering and have learned which sounds and calls I find enjoyable and which I don't. Some sounds that I don't care for are species I was heavily considering before I met my ringneck, so I got lucky
