Does anybody know what kind of Harlequin variation this is? The orange color appears on its crest, forehead, wings, belly and tail feathers.

I first thought it was stains of something, but it isn't. I have read that the cheek color can extend to the crest, but it didn't say anything about the rest of the body. I am really curious about this...

As far as I know it has always been like this. I bought him from a serious breeder who also have two pet shops. I have bought two tiels from him before, and they have all been very healthy. Of course I forgot to ask him today about the color, it was so busy in the shop. He always feeds his birds with a very good, mixed diet.

That being the case, I would recommend to just ignore the coloration and it may perhaps molt out with age. Maybe the orange is from orange toys that got wet?
