I am pretty sure my relationship with Alex is based on friendship.

Corkey- mate, but neither of us are faithful :D
Lucy-I am the Big B she has to make do with when her Daddy is not home
Olivia- flock mate/parrontal
Rocky- flock mate

I chose other meaning (flock mate) because all of the above can probably be found in a flock :)

I was torn between friend and co-inhabitor. Finally selected co-inhabitor, as in highly compatible roommates. Gussie is mostly my constant companion when I'm home, follows me if I leave the room, hangs out with me when I'm sitting down...but also spends a fair amount of time playing in her cage with the door open. She seems to prefer her cage toys to the play stand toys. She also puts herself to bed when she wants to go to sleep. She isn't as much of a Velcro bird as my lovie Buddy was. She has shown little interest in other birds, even when we go to the vet or when she boards. I'm not sure she knows she is a bird. As for Murphy, none of the above fit as we are in the early stages of forming a relationship. He is getting increasingly social but is still strictly "hands off". It's really more of "Keep your hands OUT OF SIGHT or I'm outta here!". But he is starting to hand out near me and talk to me and answer me when I talk to him. I'm hoping we will eventually be friends. Fingers crossed.

Peanut thinks of me as her mate (which is to be expected, I'm not surprised in the least.)

Earlier this week and last week she was very hormonal too, I could hardly touch her without her presenting or trying to feed me. Finally I've managed to back her hormones off some with more darkness and not reaching for her unless necessary. Last night she was able to be cuddled and scritched without expecting a happy ending. :o:
So hopefully things will be back to normal soon.

I tell her I just want to be friends but I don't think she cares.
