a section of corn on the cob, and green beans (favorite).... they don't want it chopped up either...they like to chomp and forage it themselves, which makes sense, as in the wild, they would have to forage... likes to make her own "chopped salad"
Secret does the same thing with peppers and carrots (and green beans are a favorite) and she can chow down on a small wheel of corn on the cob.

Today my GCC Caoimhe Finally tried some vegetables! I tried giving her really extra tiny pieces and that worked! Maybe large chunks are overwhelming at first. But that is what my birds are eating today, cauliflower and broccoli :)

I've never tried corn on the cob but mine all love corn, of course! Do you give it raw or precooked? Is one better for them nutrionally? I prefer raw vegetables for myself, but some things are healthier cooked.

I do a small wheel off of a corn on the cob that I cook for myself. She holds and nibbles off the little corn kernals.

I'm not good on nutrition. I relied on a former member that was fabulous (hankmacaw).

I cook my corn IN THE HUSK in the microwave. It's so easy....

Today both boys are getting a mix of chop I had in the freezer, plus Lil Bird Sprouts from Sprout People and a bit of hemp seed.

Ripley also got some soaked Psittacus sprinkled with ProZyme, freeze dried veggies, and an anti-inflammatory spice mix.

Do you mix this yourself ?
No, I get it from Christine's Chop Shop. It has Ceylon cinnamon, rose hips, turmeric, moringa leaf, ginger and cayenne pepper. I definitely notice a difference in Ripley's mobility and appetite when I don't add it!

Jason Crean also has made one that I may try when I have extra funds to work with. His has

Chia seed powder*, Ginger root powder*, Turmeric root powder*, Rosemary leaf powder*, Ashwagandha root powder*, Licorice root powder*, Oregano leaf powder*, Black pepper (ground)*, Ceylon cinnamon powder*, Tulsi leaf powder*, Star anise seed/pod powder*
*denotes organic ingredient

Made some grains and chop today as I was out. The chop is mostly from the freezer section, as I just had no energy. Sweet potatoes, butternut squash, corn, kale, multicolored cauliflower, and some odds and ends. Then I added a mixed fresh bag of greens (napa cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrot, and kale).

Grains are wheat berries, wild rice, and tricolor quinoa.

Should last be about 2 months! Ripley has actually been eating "true chop" now the last few weeks. I think that getting him to eat sprouts was the key to that, which he really only started getting into within the past couple months.

Bosco will try everything at least once
