It is amazing how different a juvenile slaty looks when compared to a juvenile plummie, totally different!
He is probably very stressed today, so don't worry about his sounds. Just let him relax alone and recover in his new surrounding. He will feel a little better tomorrow. Then you can start working towards friendship ever so slowly.

About 535 days after I first contacted the breeder and after (what I estimate as) a >1,300km journey, he's home 
I am letting him come out of his box at his pace, so he's still in it
If Quarter taught me anything it's how to bond with a scared bird, so I feel ready to start whenever he is!
So excited to finally get firsthand experience with this species!!
