You can look into getting a Care Credit card.

OP is in the UK, there is no such thing there.
Tka gave some options RE financing;

Unfortunately I think you are looking at a bank loan, putting it on a credit card, or arranging an overdraft. You may want to speak with someone at your bank for advice. Bear in mind that many pet insurance policies won't cover pre-existing conditions so if you do want to take out insurance, you must read the fine print very carefully.

Hi everyone, it's with a heavy heart that I have to say Oxo gained his other worldly wings. The bloods come back with a viral infection, and continued to go down hill. He ended up at 74g and couldnt stop vomiting undigested seeds. His tail started bobbing and I couldnt take his suffering anymore. The second set of bloods havent come back, but the vet did day he had a high indicator in his blood of a viral infection, and markers that indicated his liver was working hard to fight.

I really do appreciate your help and input, even down to the finances. I just wish avian Avenue love could cure birds because I can feel the love on here, from the PMs and well wishes.

I do have a few questions about viral infections, as I do believe this is my second cockateil to go before their time, and I'm broken hearted that its something I'm doing in their daily care and I cant face another feathered friend going early. What's the best topic to post under for those type of questions as I dont want to clog up this emergency thread.

Thanks

tka

I'm so sorry to hear about Oxo. You did all you could, and if love were enough he'd still be with uis. Sadly it sounds like the virus was too much for his little body to fight.

There's a section for Diseases in Healthy Highway - I would post there: Diseases
