Hi guys.. I'm waiting for cornell to call back. this is the third time now.. I don't want to put him through any more torture and I am not even going to consider the invasive surgery they sometimes try for this.. I'm assuming we are going to have to get him put down. He is at my brothers house... we had adjusted his food according to what the vet told me and what I learned aout what could cause this and it still happened again.. he is 33-34 years old.. I love him tons but this is a very painful thing for him and I really don't know what to do. I'd love to be able to just keep patching him up but as someone who has been through a crap load of surgeries myself.. I know it's not a fun life. This would be a whole nother round of major antibiotics.. surgery.. anesthesia at least twice, again.. I just don't know. And of course the place we brought him to last time doesn't have an avian vet available and neither does the place I brought my macaw.. so we are going to have to hit the road to Cornell. I haven't been there since they gave me the wrong meds that almost killed Madison.. which I know was an accident but made me leary.
What do you guys think? He is a great, wonderful, loving, cursing little bundle but he had a hard life before he came to us and he isn't in the best of shape as it is.. with his poor legs and feet hurt so badly.. he walks on them balled up now, even with the glucosamine and heat perch and soft ramps to walk on. This SUCKS!!!
