Making it easier might encourage more people to participate :)
True. We will see what Danita and the gang can figure out. I may be able to scrounge up something else.

I'll see if I have anything to sell. It doesn't have to be bird related, does it?

No. They just need items to sell.

If you are uncomfortable running an auction I'm sure we can find people to volunteer. :)
How do you "run" an auction? Would we just start a thread and post a picture? Bump it occasionally and shut it off at a given time?

I'd like to donate a few custom hand carved stamps. Winning bidder would just send me an idea, or a logo, or a photo of their animal to carve. If it's a logo, I have to be able to actually carve those little bitty letters. Some fonts are easier than others.

I'll probably have several size stamps for auction; 2x2in, 2x3in, and something like 4x5. These are really good for adding a little handmade, personal flare! If you are a crafter, you know how useful stamps are. You can heat emboss, color them in... Embellish your own holiday/greeting/birthday cards, packaging, etc! I even use them on envelopes when I snail mail folks.

Here's some stuff I've carved over the years (some of these were made in to trading cards). Would anyone be interested? I'd prefer if someone hosted for me, or if we had a mass auction for all of the items available.

*EDIT* Sorry for the huge pictures! Some of these are actually pretty small (Framery and Kiss are both around 1.5 inches or so.

Okay, so we do one big auction @Deejo
So each item needs its own thread?
Which is what I was going to do.
I can run them all, no problem there.
Shipping them all to me, to ship elsewhere is a waste of shipping money so...
The winner um
:chin:
Thoughts?

I don't think each item would necessarily need an individual thread. The auction thread would look like how you set up the list of Vendors during SWS- Smallish images and descriptions underneath. Probably lay them out ahead of time so people can get a look at what's available before the actual auction date; this way, if there's any questions on a particular item, someone can ask it on that thread and get answers.

But we are not Facebook where one can comment ( bid ) on individual items in one thread and have them be separate.

Unless one thread is

1. Rope swing
2. Stamp set
3. Whatever

And each post states

$5 bid on #3

????

That sounds like a good way to do it. Just give each listing an item number. :)

Each has to be a different thread, we can't do it like FB, we don't have albums.

So, about a week ago, I messaged Macawnutz and told her that my work place has giant cardboard tubes. I know there is no glue on them. there is ink stamping, but I've been peeling it off. The tubes are about 16" long with a 3" inner diameter. They are probably about 3/16" thick.

My question is, would there be any interest in these as an auction item? I'm sure they would make study toy bases for larger birds, or even for birds who just love to chew the cardboard to shreds. I'm waiting to have the photos I took sent to me, the building is a pita to use with personal phones.
