Pygmy Date Palm will be very spiky at the base of the fronds. Soft now that it is a baby but gets brutal when bigger, I have one-OUCH!

Awesome! We don't get dragonflies until summer but it seems spring has already been here since the beginning of the month. Winter just came and gone like a flash; almost didn't notice it this year, really, really strange. :cool10:

I love the palms! They look great!!! We have two fake trees in our animal room. We have a ponytail palm downstairs. Is that 'bird safe'.

The contractor said it will take two guys three hours (at the most) since it is very tricky to tread on the framework lattice and they will have to test every step they take so they don't fall through the plastic roof. He's a big guy so he will bring a skinny small guy along :hehe:

Soo....i have to be sure these clear panels are going to work and not need to be restored with the opaque again since it is more work than i thought:eek:

In our outings in the net enclosure in travel cages we have had a hawk circling overhead and though my guys froze and stared upward, they did not freak out....

hmm....
anybody have input on replacing a third of the roof with clear plastic?

you are only replacing panels on the east side right??

I like the idea - much more light, won't get too hot on that side

and you can always paint them on the outside if you don't like it :)

Queens get HUGE:eek:!! It's going to look like Jumanji in there..hehe...Just make sure there are no palmetto bugs in them, a favorite place for the little nasties. Very nice Saroj, I like the clear panel ideas, but I bet enough light gets in as it is for the palms.

One good thing is there are pine trees on that side which sort of shelter the view....

the idea is growing on me....:p
