I have a 16 year old Quaker parrot that I have recently noticed a light "clicking" sound when he breathes. Like his nose is stuffy or there is something in it. He does sneeze quite a bit and has matting around his nares.

He is also much lower energy than usual and sleeps a lot. Now I noticed when he flies he can't seem to go very far, and he often stumbles when he lands or falls off things. Yesterday he flew over and stumbled right into my container of lunch and got tuna fish all over him. Like his aim and balance are terrible right now. I went to wash him up and he was breathing so hard and was very sleepy after.

His appetite is good. Poops seem normal. I also just grounded him from the parakeet cage because he goes in there and eats all their seeds. (I feed him a mix of chop and zupreem pellets, but he is obsessed with eating the keets food and getting into their cage) I wonder if some seed got in his nose? And he maybe has an infection?

We have a vet appointment tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and what the outcome was. I'm pretty worried about my boy, especially with the new stumbling and flight issues. He has always been pretty healthy otherwise.

He might have some type of sinus or respiratory infection. I hope the vet visit goes well and he feels better soon.
