Hi I have a new bird, a Quaker parrot.
I have 2 budgies too which are very tame. When it’s time for the Quaker, Chico to go out he climbs the budgie cage and won’t get down. He’s pretty tame, steps up and takes food from me he’s 10 months. How can I stop him doing this I’m new to having a parrot and looked all over the internet to find answers but have none. Don’t seem like he wants to be aggressive but I don’t want him scaring my budgies or hurting them. I don’t want to put them in separate rooms either. help please xx

You could put a blanket or plexi glass sheet on top of the cage, or get a stand so the budgies won’t notice as much.

Thank you, they are up high on a coffee table. He’s had his wings clipped so don’t fly but still manages to get up. He flutters his way up. He’s new cage comes Friday. Will he stop being so obsessed by them??
