There is proof positive of what I always say about @Macawnutz birds. They shine like a new penny and look as healthy as an Olympic athlete.

It's been a rough month! Korbel and Maui had a falling out over Maui's girl obsession. Neither bird has a tail right now as they butted rears a few times! Korbel and Sam are now weird friends. Feeding each other but no touching. Sam, Kailua, Cha and Sakie are beautiful... the rest look like they rode through a meat grinder! Ugh

Awesome! I recently looked at an old church to live in- unfortunately the people who renovated it made a total dog’s dinner of everything they set out to do.

I imagine that the vaulted ceilings of many churches, including yours, judging by what architecture can be seen, would be great for the birds to be able to fly!

Oscar came from a flock of 8 other (mostly unsupervised) macaws, and he had spots that suggested to me that he was sometimes picked on (a bald spot on the top of his head that he couldn't possible reach, and a tattered tail which has grown in nicely since he's been with me, for example). Also, his chest and leg feathers were more than a little sparse here and there, as was his back under his wings, but they're growing in nicely too (now that he has more toys to destroy, etc).

I bought the church specifically for that purpose; facilitating their ability to fly is very important to me and the main sanctuary space is 40x60x30 so that helps a lot.

That said, it's amazing how quickly they cover those distances, so it feels like I've provided them with a treadmill at best.

I'll hopefully get some free flight ones this summer as that is when they're at their best.
These are a few favorites I have for now and so hopefully they'll do decently and suffice for now.
