Re: Percy is going to the vet tomorrow
Oh I see. The feathers can't grow back. Thanks for that info.
Just to clarify what I was also meaning about the benefits of an outdoor flight & exposure to natural sunshine, humidity and rain showers: I did not mean to allow Percy outside in a flight if it was not safe. I was meaning to construct the flight in such a way so it would be totally safe, such as using double sides and bottom and with a solid roof with overhangs - with the back against the side of your home, where a window may be located (if possible). And to place it facing south if possible or southeast. Etc. ...
Yes, 100 degrees may be too warm for them (?) even if not feathered to hold in body heat. I guess the local avian vets would be the people to check with about that subject. Placing him outside during days that are in the low 90's or less should be just fine though.
Just trying to help, not pressure. Have a nice day.
I have had four vets tell me his feathers will not grow Thanks for the idea of an out door aviary he did not get out much this year because it was a hot summer mostly over 100 degrees some people keep their birds outside here
I do not let them out side without me because I have a hawk that lives accross the street I do have a screened in back porch that the birds go out when there is time and weather is good
