I’m glad I found a place where people are bird obsessed like me! Hi guys! I wanted to introduce you to Peep. He is my little ball of sunshine and dander. I got him from a petstore in May. He isn’t hand raised, it’s very difficult to come across breeders in my country so I decided to try and earn his trust myself. About a week later he let me scritch him and I think he trusts me ever since! I’m so glad my efforts paid off. I’ve been wanting a tiel since 2016 but I was 13 and in school so it wasn’t viable.

He is a weird lil guy, when he wants scritches he gets very talkative, and then sorta hyper when I reach my finger to him, then he puts his head down for scritches xD He likes flying and sitting on my head. The quiet moments are precious. I’ve tried to make him say ‘I love you’, but instead he chose to imitate a kissy noise I made to him, except veeery drawn out. It sounds like low pitched static and I can’t help laughing when I hear it. ANYWAY! I’m blabbing away. I hope you like these pics! Nice to meet you all!

edit: Oh yeah, and I would love to hear any tips on transitioning him to a pellet diet. He is a seed fiend and has never actually swallowed any pellets I’ve given him, only chewed on them and let the pellet hit the floor

Welcome... my new boy looks quite similar to yours. I can go fairly close to him but he won't accept treats yet. I blended (ground up) pellets and added a small quantity of seeds afterwards. I gradually reduced the proportion of seeds and when i tried him with just the powdered pellets he still ate heartily. Maybe you could try that?

Thanks! do you mean the thing he’s sitting on in the first photo or just general? He has wood perches, with and without bark, a sisal rope perch and a cork perch
