Hello everyone!! We have just rescued a double yellow headed Parrot and we would like to get more information on behavior issues!!!! Any help would be great as I have done a ton of reading and am understanding.

She roams the cage a lot and we are getting her used of us as we have had her for 4 days. She would say hello before the move and now she just dose little chirps

Thank you!! It’s difficult because we really don’t know her habits. As the owner who had her was more indoors. He had three birds and all three were different.

How old is the Amazon and what is her name?

We know she is at least 6 years old!! Her name is Juanita.. we rescued her from Galveston Texas. She has not done any fanning at all. And she does not scream!! But today was the first time she really pinned. It was great because I gave her a treat and she kept coming to the bars for more.. we are extremely happy with her as we feared the worse. But I’ve been reading a lot and I guess it’s just a matter of time.
We know she dose say hello but not since we got her here.

Thank you!! It’s so much fun watching her get use to our home. We have 2 dogs and a cat. But we have a great spot under our patio for her and she just keeps chirp. No big noises yet!!!
