New avian owner with tons of questions

My name is Stephanie and I live in arizona! I have started caring for birds because the kids in the neighborhood always bring me baby birds or injured birds! Now I go bird watching and take photos! I now have a house sparrow (chirpity) that will not ever fly because of calcium deficiency when young, a Eurasian collard dove (dirty dirty) who also doesn't fly right but does fly in circles, and a pigeon (cricket) who leaves all day and comes home at night! Plus two baby birds that will hopefully be ready to release in a few weeks!

Hello,thank you, I do what I can! I have a friend who works with game and fish and she picks up a lot of birds for me and takes them to an avian rehabilitation center! She answers a lot of questions for me as well! We try educating the kids so they know when to leave a baby fledgling alone but you know how well they listen! But they love learning and we are all learning together!

Thank you everyone! And cassiesdad yes it is unusual but it is short for dirty dirty birdie! If you've ever fed a baby dove or pigeon you would see why I named her that! They get so messy!

So,we moved out of our apartment June 1rst and on June 3rd when I woke up I found my pigeon cricket deceased in his cage! He was the only one, everyone else was fine! I was devastated. The apartment was having pest control reduce the pigeon population there and since cricket went out all day I'm afraid he may have been a victim! Last week DIRTY DIRTY birdie drowned in her water! So sad! But I still have my chairlift plus the two mourning dove ( which I named pinky and the brain ) and 5 new pigeons (squeekers, screech aka. Cry baby, William and Wendy Winer, and Henry) who all are in an aviary we made outside!
