New addition...

Some of you may already know via Facebook, but I will be adopting Hachi who was abandoned and starving when rescued. On top of the struggle to recover from starvation, Marie contacted me after Dr. O mentioned my flock. Hachi appears to be suffering from depression as well. Honestly, who wouldn’t? We found out today from her x-ray, that not only is she recovering from starvation but in her final years as well. She is an older bird based on the calcification in her enlarged valves as noted with advanced age. Marie has been doing critical care formula twice a day, fluids once a week, milk thistle for her liver and now cardiac care formula. She still needs thoughts and prayers for a continued recovery. She sleeps lots too…I hope that she will do better with lots of love and activity from the gang and myself.

Chandra, I have no words for how amazing you are. I really don't. You're the type of person that there needs to be more of in this world.

It was hard to think about taking in a little one who may not have an extra month or even day when she comes home. But when Marie sent me the picture of her pooped out on top of the cage, my heart melted.

I'm supposed to pick her up from Dr. O's on Friday afternoon. I've actually been afraid to post for fear she wouldn't pull through. She can actually get lift and fly a little now. She will probably think I am crazy for hovering over her all the time. I'm also waiting for my avitech heat panel to come in for her which is why Friday.

There just might be. When CJ came to me, I thought I'd have him for a few months at most, he's so frail and thin, but he's still going strong without any sign that he's going to stop. And you'll give her the best years of her life.
