Sounds good Lisa, having a super fearful bird myself I know it takes soo much time. It took Coco (one of my Bare eyed Toos) 6 months to touch a toy. I had them in the cage and if he came to close to one he would scream at it ~ hoping it would move away. Glad you have this fellow, not every person would have the resources to info and the will to try and help him out. I worry about his feets, maybe they won't even know how to sit on a perch at first. I guess more time.

I have the lights off now and am watching tv in the room he is in. He is quiet and still hanging on the side of his cage. Maybe I should get one of those flat platform type perches also.

Oh, that poor, poor baby. Bless you for taking care of him. It breaks my heart to think of a macaw with no toys, no perches. No wonder he is plucking. :sad8:

Thankfully I can see new feathers coming in where he plucked and he seems to be leaving them alone. He looks so dirty though. I doubt he ever had a bath.

Its breaking my heart to see him hanging on the side of his cage. He doesn't know HOW to perch. When his feet get tired he lets go and hangs on with his beak only.

I haven't tried to handle him yet. I'm sitting where he can see me and he is talking and making noises so I think he is comfy enough at least - not too scared.
How sad :( I am so glad that he found his way to you! :)

Lisa, if this bird is in such sorry shape, I am curious as to why you're now selling him on Rochester Kijiji for $400 (without his cage) so soon after his arrival?
