Matilda, our ringtail possum

This is Matilda (better known as Tilly) our ringtail possum. Tilly was rescued along with a couple of siblings from her mother who had been killed about 2 years ago. She was raised by a wildlife carer and then we were asked to take her on. Matilda does school trips every so often to assist in educating kids about our wildlife and helped out with our school's fundraiser after the Victorian bushfires raising awareness of what the animals were going through too.

She is adorable. What does she eat?

Fruit and veg, like the birds but no broccoli, meal worms, native plant leaves, flowers and buds and a couple of times a week she gets insectivore and protein powders.

Now she's getting older she's getting less cuddly but will still snuggle up under your clothes if she decides she doesn't really want to be up and awake during the day.

Poor baby it's hot here today so she's flaked out with a fan on her and frozen water bottle next to her.
